"And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.”
(AI-Baqarah, 2:216)
I really need to adopt this. Ya Allah give me strength.
Many unhappy or things that I dislike are happening nowadays. May you give me the strength to go through this.
Don't think need to list down what is the thing that made me miserable and that one I don't like. Just need this advice to be glued in my mind.

Ramadhan
Einstein says: definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
And here it comes- Ramadhan.
another 15 more days. What i hope is, this Ramadan to make me better person, to improve my quality of solah & fasting. Insya Allah

Cuteness
Interesting conversation with Aimaan this morning.
He doesn't want to grow up, because life is getting harder. (wow, its true...its really true). I laughed and told him that everyone will grow up and that's the life everyone have to go through.
Told him that if i'm getting older (of course i'm joking. Allah kan ada, Allah will take care of me)" I would need someone to take care of me. And you have to go to work, send your kids to school, and do other stuff. That's why you have to grow up."
The funny part is - he told me he can take care of me, but getting kids ready to school will be done by his wife, and he don't know who is his wife. that's the problem. LOL.
Cuteness.
Told him that the time will come. And May Allah guide him to choose a solehah wife & to his coolness of his eyes.

little guard
The father is on -job at Singapore for 2 days. The father told Aimaan 'when I am not around, you are the man of the house'
It really touches my heart, when we are at our home last night, before sleeping, Aimaan told me "I have to sleep in your room, because atta is not here" and when i asked why 'because i am the man in this house. No other man is here. " <3 insya Allah

on another note, my fav mufti (Mufti Menk) is back in town again!! and sadly (read= SADLY (and also known as heart-wrenching) i am not able to attend his talks this time! its just i love to listen to his talks every day, and when he is coming- furthermore the talk is just at mosque at my parents house!! Can you imagine this? He is coming to my place and I will be away for family day event on that day? If only If i got to know on this talk earlier, i definitely would not attend the family day.
hummpphh.. is okay, hope to attend the next one insya Allah..Allah is the best planner.

Word
saying/uttering good words is a charity.
charity makes the other people happy. So does the word.
so, lets avoid making other people not happy with us because the words /tones that we use.
choose wisely. be safe.

Food!
People says what you eat is what you are.
I do agree on that- if you eat from halal source, insya Allah, you’ll be good, physically, mentally & spiritually. If its from haram- it will be otherwise. I’ve seen, read on this.
My grandma (my mom’s side) passed away last month; at the age of 84 (may Allah grant her Jannah & place her with salihin people). Throughout her life, she had never once admitted to hospital- or seeks medical consultation in hospital/clinic. (That’s the best of health gift Allah can give. May Allah provide the same to us, Insya Allah). One of her habits - before she consume any food, she will make doa (besides basmallah) ‘ Oh Allah, grant me the goodness from this food, purify my souls, avoid the bad from this food ”. Directly asking Allah to grant her good from the food/Rizq.
Although she was 80++, she was strong, can walk until she fell down before Ramadan this year. She was on bed rest. She can’t walk. Then her condition got worse, she was admitted to the hospital. That was the first time she was admitted (and the last). She was in the hospital for a month (almost or more). And after more than 2 month, she returned to Allah.
I am interested what these people eat. I mean people from the early years, they don’t eat junk food. They don’t eat processed foods. They eat home-cooked foods. They are lucky they had source. They ate grains, lentils, coconut milk, fruits, and vegetables. Free from any types of pesticides. They use natural fertilizer. Isn’t’ that a bliss? They were diseases free when they were young. Strong. Masha Allah. And they were very particular on the source – how they get the food. How it was cooked. How the chickens were slaughtered, did anyone give you, if yes why?
My late grandfather (dad’s side)- he like to eat shallots (raw) when having his lunch. He loves banana. And he had very good memory & eye sight until he passed away. He loves to read. Another thing he’ll do is he will wash the plates before eating although we have washed the plate. I had no idea why he do that, maybe he is used to it since he was young.
that is wonder right?

Recycling Box for Paper
Last Monday, we missed school and office. Woke up late- exhausted from the wedding.
To fill up our time, this is what we did- A recycling box! I want to introduce the habits of recycling to my kids (well, not me- am exaggerating! lt was Aimaan's idea to have a recycling bin in our house to avoid waste after he learnt from his kindergarden. Sadly they don't encourage this in his school. )
Anyway.. today we choose paper, why?

Anyway.. today we choose paper, why?
(taken from http://greenliving.lovetoknow.com/Facts_About_Recycling_Paper)
- A typical office generates about one pound of paper per employee and that from that paper, 77 percent of what is wasted in offices across the country is recyclable.
- Most of the paper wasted is high grade paper.
- Using old paper to make new paper uses 30 to 50 percent less energy than making paper from trees.
- Pollution is also reduced by 95 percent when used paper is made into new sheets.
- 40 percent of all waste going to landfills is paper. Cutting down on paper waste will extend the lives of our landfills.
- Newspaper can be recycled into egg cartons, game boards, new newspaper, gift boxes, animal bedding, insulation and packaging material.
- Office paper is recycled into paper towels, tissue paper and toilet paper.
- Corrugated cardboard is created into new cardboard and cereal boxes.
and yes...even we DO use & throw a lots of paper in our home! Everyday...
So this is how we did..
1) Things that we need:
1) box 2) glue & scissors 3) color paper- BLUE (blue os for Paper) 4)pencil 5) colour pen 6) 1 A4 paper
2) Using the box, trace the outline of the box shape on the color paper with pencil and cut it accordingly . ( we didn't take picture of this!- soo excited to do!)
3) Using glue, paste the colour paper on around the box
4) Once you are done, you can take the A4 paper, label it and decorate it as you wish.
5) And that's all. Easy right? Recycling a box for a recycling bin
Excited with his recycling box. :)

What will concern you most? The behavior or the word that certain people use?
I am very particular on how people speak, and choices of word they use. I think most of the people out there too.
I hope I am not part of the group of people that using bad words. And I really hope not to be within these type of people. it's really damaging. Your perception towards them and people's perception towards you. Oh.. Forget about people's perception. Let's look for Allah's perception & mercy. May we are not part of them.
And I really hope that my kids won't have the ability of using bad & insulting words that really can leave a deep or minor scar to other people. I have felt it, and the scar won't heal very fast.

way back in 2009
i actually drafted this in 2009! some of "Aimaan said the darndest thing!"
1. I’m eating ice cream. Barney says its good and best.
2. I’m watching stuart little: “I don’t want to watch this. Mouse cannot talk, mouse only eat cheese and mouse have four legs”
3. Give him tosai instead of capati, but told him it’s a capati “I want capati with the black spots”
4. went to my mom’s place for lunch. I dropped my kids there and went out to do some groceries and banking stuff. He was supposed to have his lunch, but he didn’t until I came back. When I asked him why he didn’t have his lunch? He said,” because I miss you mommy”
5. bought him a sand art at The Curve, and while paying he was so happy and he said “ I love you mommy, thank you mommy”

Exam Result
So Aimaan has completed his 1st term at primary school.. And they had mid-term exam.
Overall result was good. We were grateful that he did well for his exam- though I'm really sure that Aimaan doesn't know the meaning of exam. We just hope that he gained some useful knowledge( and also limy yg berkat). In our opinion, he should know & understand what he learnt & not just 'know' for the sake knowing & passing the exam.
& yes there was open day for primary school & Kafa. Overall feedback was good- the socialize with his friend.. The only improvement that he need is reduce the # of going to toilets (just to wash hand) & walking in the class although the teacher was there & teaching!! And yeah.. Talk a lot in the class- which is nothing new :). I don't feel like stopping him from asking questions & I just hope he can understand for what he was curious about. Yes, as a mother , I hope he'll get the best & pray that he will be modest always.

Oh my lil one!
When we walked out from Wild Life-Sydney the other day, my lil one took a lollipop and walked out. I saw it, and took away from her and there the drama begins! She screamed, and I went to consoled her, but she still want the lollipop. Then I just carried her away and go out from the shop. She loosened her body and sill want to go back to the shop. And I said no. (please take note they she dislikes when we said No) And she started to lie down on the floor & bang her legs.
And I know she won’t calm down if I stay there, I pretend to walk away from her. Not even 5 steps, men told me that I left my daughter behind. And I told him that ‘ I ‘m not leaving her. I am just ignoring her tantrum’. He laughed and I feel ashamed. I went back to my lil one, carried her start to walk fast. The old man who was sitting on the bench laughed at us.
Well, u may ask it’s just a lollipop, and what’s the big deal about it. The thing is, she had so much of sugar-based food since morning. And I am not comfortable in letting my daughter/kids to have some more. I can give them some, but I have to say enough once I think they have too much.
Well, lucky I am a tourist there and they wont remember me anymore….

15.5
A year older, a year wiser and nearer to meet Allah. :)
It was a blessed day. Got surprised bithday flower & cakes from my best buddies! And also handbag from my colleagues. And yet, my hubs forgot to wish me until 10-ish... and by having a wallet misplace drama..hmmm.. Alhamdulillah..he found it.
Overall, it was blessed one & I know i am surrounded by lovely families.
And i also learnt (and why it took me soo long to realise) that 15.5 is also Nakba day. Where Palestenians were expelled from their own homeland by the Israelis. And, after 33 years, I just got to know and it happens in year 1948.
Lets pray for their freedom & Insya Allah, Palestine will be free!

Knowledge
Have you ever feel when you engaged in a discussion or when listening to a talk, you feel like your knowledge is very minimal compare to them?
I had few discussion with certain people & attended few talks before this. These made me feel like I have lots of things to learn, to understand. And the current knowledge that I have, or already thought is sufficient , is not sufficient. Really, not sufficient.
there's a say saying that don't say u know about unless you are really sure. if u are not sure, it's better to say ' I don't know' or keep quite.

When you thought I wasn't looking
Shared by one of my favorite Mufti in his FB, this thing is really good!
"When you thought I wasn't looking. "
A message every adult should read because children watch you and do as you do, not as you say.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that little things can be the special things in life.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn’t feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, and it’s all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I learned most of life’s lessons that I needed to know: to be a good and productive person when I grow up.
When you thought I wasn’t looking I looked at you and wanted to say,’ Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking.
