Food!

People says what you eat is what you are.

I do agree on that- if you eat from halal source, insya Allah, you’ll be good, physically, mentally & spiritually. If its from haram- it will be otherwise. I’ve seen, read on this.

My grandma (my mom’s side) passed away last month; at the age of 84 (may Allah grant her Jannah & place her with salihin people). Throughout her life, she had never once admitted to hospital- or seeks medical consultation in hospital/clinic. (That’s the best of health gift Allah can give. May Allah provide the same to us, Insya Allah). One of her habits - before she consume any food, she will make doa (besides basmallah) ‘ Oh Allah, grant me the goodness from this food, purify my souls, avoid the bad from this food ”. Directly asking Allah to grant her good from the food/Rizq.

Although she was 80++, she was strong, can walk until she fell down before Ramadan this year. She was on bed rest. She can’t walk. Then her condition got worse, she was admitted to the hospital. That was the first time she was admitted (and the last). She was in the hospital for a month (almost or more). And after more than 2 month, she returned to Allah.

I am interested what these people eat. I mean people from the early years, they don’t eat junk food. They don’t eat processed foods. They eat home-cooked foods. They are lucky they had source. They ate grains, lentils, coconut milk, fruits, and vegetables. Free from any types of pesticides. They use natural fertilizer. Isn’t’ that a bliss? They were diseases free when they were young. Strong. Masha Allah. And they were very particular on the source – how they get the food. How it was cooked. How the chickens were slaughtered, did anyone give you, if yes why?

My late grandfather (dad’s side)- he like to eat shallots (raw) when having his lunch. He loves banana. And he had very good memory & eye sight until he passed away. He loves to read. Another thing he’ll do is he will wash the plates before eating although we have washed the plate. I had no idea why he do that, maybe he is used to it since he was young.

that is wonder right?
